Prensario and NATPE Team-up Launch LA Virtual Screenings 2021

Prensario International and NATPE confirm a new Virtual Screenings event as the premiere digital event for international content during the traditional LA Screenings season – May 11-20

Prensario International, a pioneer media company with almost 50 years in the entertainment business, and the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) will work together to organize LA Virtual Screenings this year. This will be the third digital event of its kind, created by Prensario, with two successful events already taking place in 2020.

LA Virtual Screenings 2021 (LAVS) will take place over ten days from May 11th to May 20th. This partnership is part of a larger strategic deal announced last December that includes creation of a VIP Global Buyers’ Club overseen by Prensario for NAPTE Miami Virtual 2021 (Jan. 19-29).

Nicolas Smirnoff, director, Prensario International, underlined: «Virtual Screenings was our top news of 2020, a very successful initiative and a real contribution for the content business that allowed the global industry to go through the pandemic much better. Witnessing the difficult scenario of 2021, being again allies with NATPE takes the VS experience to the next level. We’ll push everything further and deeper”.

JP Bommel, President and CEO, NATPE, added: “We are delighted to continue and grow our extremely productive partnership with Prensario for the benefit of our buyers and sellers. Prensario has been at the forefront of providing business intelligence and connectivity during the pandemic and was an early adopter of virtual events, which was critically acclaimed by the industry.”

LAVS 2021 platform will be on the line of VS Autumn, which took place in September 2020. The platform is very simple and buyers who register for free will have access to all the five sections.

Acquisitions, programming, and production executives attending the virtual marketplace will be able to:

  • Watch trailers, previews, or complete episodes of the shows being offered,
  • Go through the company information via an exhibitor directory and,
  • Utilize complementary digital tools and services to connect with global content providers.

Content providers expected to attend include those from Hollywood studios, independent producers, leading Latin American, Turkish, APAC and MENA and African distributors. Buyers from all across the world can already register at www.virtualscreenings.com.

Prensario’s Virtual Screenings have grown upon each outing. The first VS saw 4000 participants, including over 1300 buyers. The VS Autumn in September 2020 surpassed the first attendance number of 4000 participants and saw a 15-20% growth in number of buyers (+1500), screenings, countries, and cities compared to the Spring edition.
